This dinner recipe is one of our favorite ways to enjoy salmon during the warmer months. Sweet honey, fresh lime, ginger, and our Orange Ginger Garlic Salt come together to create a simple glaze that pairs perfectly with a crisp, refreshing salad.

Whether you're grilling for family dinner or entertaining guests, this dish delivers plenty of flavor without requiring a lot of time in the kitchen.

Serves 4–6

Ingredients

For the salmon:

  • 1½ pounds salmon, skin removed and cut into large cubes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water

Honey Citrus Glaze:

Asian Cucumber and Purple Cabbage Salad:

  • 2 English cucumbers, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded purple cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

Sesame Ginger Dressing

  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ½ teaspoon S.A.L.T. Sisters Orange Ginger Garlic Salt
  • Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the glaze.

In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, lime juice, garlic, ginger, Orange Ginger Garlic Salt, and black pepper.

Step 2: Prepare the salmon.

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Thread the salmon cubes onto the skewers and brush generously with the glaze.

Step 3: Grill the salmon.

Grill the skewers for 3 to 4 minutes per side, brushing with additional glaze as they cook. Remove them from the grill once the salmon is lightly charred and flakes easily with a fork.

Step 4: Prepare the salad.

In a large bowl, combine the cucumbers, cabbage, carrots, green onions, cilantro, and toasted sesame seeds.

Step 5: Prepare the dressing.

In a small bowl, whisk together the rice vinegar, sesame oil, soy sauce, honey, ginger, garlic, Orange Ginger Garlic Salt, and black pepper.

Pour the dressing over the vegetables and toss until evenly coated. Refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes before serving.

Serving Recommendations

Top the salad with the grilled salmon skewers and garnish with:

  • Lime wedges
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Toasted sesame seeds
  • A light drizzle of sesame oil

This recipe is proof that a few fresh ingredients and the right seasoning can completely transform a meal. The sweetness of the honey, the brightness of the lime, and the warmth of the ginger create a combination that's light enough for summer but satisfying enough to enjoy all year long.

If you're looking for a little extra flavor, don't be afraid to finish the dish with one last pinch of Orange Ginger Garlic Salt before serving.
